Why Choose Safe Planet?

Done Properly, Built to Last

We install efficient, reliable systems, and we install them properly. Our own accredited team takes the time to size and fit your system to your home, so you get comfort that lasts and running costs that genuinely come down. We would rather do one upgrade right than rush through ten.

Accredited, and On Your Side

We're a VEU-accredited Victorian team, here to make a difference rather than just a sale. Every system is fitted by qualified professionals to the required standards, so your rebate is secured properly and the job is done right the first time.

Your Savings Pay For the System

Between the VEU rebate and Bill Matching, the cost of upgrading doesn't have to land on you upfront. Bill Matching is an interest-free plan where the savings from your new system go toward paying it off, so for many homes the upgrade largely pays for its own way over time.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Am I eligible for the Victorian Energy Upgrades rebate?

If you own a home in Victoria and you're replacing an older gas or electric heating system with an efficient reverse-cycle split or ducted system, there's a good chance you qualify. Eligibility comes down to your current system, the size of the upgrade and your property type. The fastest way to know for certain is a free rebate check, which confirms exactly what applies to your home.

2. How much can I save?

There are two savings to think about. Upfront, the VEU rebate can take a large amount off the price of your new system, up to $9,000* depending on your setup and how big the upgrade is. Ongoing, an efficient system is far cheaper to run, with many homes saving up to around $800 a year* on their energy bills. Your exact figures are confirmed at your free in-home assessment.

3. Do I have to apply for the rebate myself?

No, that part is on us. As a VEU-accredited provider, we apply the rebate upfront and handle the processing, so it comes straight off your price with no claim forms or government paperwork for you to chase. You pick the right system and we take care of the rest.

4. Which systems are eligible for the rebate?

Eligible upgrades include single split systems for a single room, multi-head split systems that run several rooms from one outdoor unit, and ducted reverse-cycle systems for whole-home heating and cooling. Whether yours qualifies depends on what you're replacing and the efficiency of the new system, which we confirm during your assessment.

5. Will an efficient system really lower my power bills?

Yes, and the difference can be sizeable. A modern reverse-cycle system delivers around three times more heat per unit of energy than an older electric resistive heater, so you get the same comfort for far less running cost. How much you save depends on your old system, your usage and how you run it, with the biggest gains coming when you replace ageing gas ducted or electric heating and use timers and zoning to avoid heating empty rooms.

6. What will I actually pay out of pocket?

For many households, very little, and sometimes nothing upfront. The rebate is applied at the point of sale, so it comes off your price straight away rather than being claimed back later. If there's a balance, Bill Matching lets you cover it interest-free, with repayments designed to line up with what you save on your energy bills. Your exact out-of-pocket cost is confirmed in writing after your free assessment, with no surprise fees.

7. How does Bill Matching work?

Bill Matching is an interest-free way to cover any cost left after your rebate. The money you save each month on a more efficient system goes toward paying it off, so the upgrade largely pays its own way over time instead of hitting you with a big bill upfront. We'll walk you through exactly how it works for your home at your assessment.
